More than a third of hospital inpatient cases for all five cancer types shown were patients between the ages of 45 and 64. Moreover, more than half (50.2%) of head and neck cancer inpatient cases, as well as a notable 46.3% of breast cancer cases, were patients in this age group in 2009. Even more striking was the 12.7% share of breast cancer inpatient cases who were in the 15 to 44 age group.
